This unit focuses on the assumption that every age has its own stereotype of beauty. Students discover Shakespeare as a poet and they acquire the competence of analysing a poetic text starting from their previous knowledge of Petrarca. They are guided through different activities to realise that there is not an objective ideal of beauty as testified by Shakespeare’s sonnet 130 and Petrarca’s sonnet 90.
