W. Blake: the poet, the artist, the intellectual.

W. Blake was one of the most interesting figures who introduced  the main themes of the Romantic Age. He had an eclectic personality: he was a great mystical and visionary poet but also a great artist and an original thinker. His best works are short lyrical poems about the two ages of man’s life, the former of innocence, the latter of experience. He exalted the importance of the imagination and the supremacy of the spirit.
