An investigation about the double aspect of Victorian society:
On the one hand, prosperity, wealth, progress; on the other, labour exploitation, appalling living conditions of the working class, crimes and violence
On the one hand faith in God and on the other the new scientific discoveries.
By means of the flipped methodology the students will be led to discover how the Victorian frame of mind developed and subsequently how the most representative authors of the period reacted to it.
